Heartland Road Runners and Walkers Club
Points Circuit of Area Races
Guidelines established 1/30/2007
HRRWC Points Circuit of Area Races is intended to promote specific running and walking events in tri-state area while motivating members with a friendly competition.
To be eligible to participate members must:
1. Be a member of HRRWC the day of a race for the race to count toward the year-end points total.
2. Submit circuit participation information (name, male or female, birth date, and walker or runner status) to the HRRWC president by the day of the race for the race to count toward the year-end points total.
Runners and walkers will be tabulated in two separate groups. A runner may walk, but a walker may not run in a race. Anyone transitioning from walking to running will need to notify the president so your scoring can be adjusted from walking to running.
Points will be awarded based on your age group placing against other HRRWC members in the race. 10 points for first, 9 points for second, 8 points for third, 7 points for fourth, 6 points for fifth, and 5 points for anyone finishing but not in the top five (5) of their age group. Year-end total ties will be broke based on head-to-head competition. Additional tiebreakers will be determined by HRRWC.
Your age, as of March 11, 2007, will determine your age group. Age groups will be: 10 and under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
The following groups will be honored at a yearly club banquet:
All members completing 50% or more of the circuit races.
Male and female age group top scorers
Overall top three (3) male and female scorers (not eligible for age group honors)
HRRWC members have two (2) weeks to contest scores after they have been posted on the website.
The numbers behind the club members names indicate current circuit points.
